Jamahal
\nHill<\/a> isn’t interested in easing his way into the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> heavyweight division.<\/p>\n

The former light heavyweight champion plans to move up to
\nheavyweight later this year, targeting the most polarizing fighter
\nin the division, Josh Hokit<\/a>.
\n\u201cSweet Dreams\u201d wants to break into the top tier of the division
\nrather than work his way up the rankings as he did at 205
\npounds.<\/p>\n

Jamahal Hill wants a Top 5 test as he begins his UFC
\nheavyweight run<\/h2>\n

Hill (12-4) revealed earlier this year that he\u2019s committing to the
\nheavyweight division after a bittersweet run a division below.
\nWhile he went on to win the 205-pound belt by defeating Glover
\nTeixeira<\/a>, injuries and a three-fight losing streak soon
\nfollowed. He now wants to earn a spot in the heavyweight division
\nthat puts him close to a title shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cTop 5 \u2013 I’d love to fight the Top 5,\u201d Hill said told media outlets
\n(via MMA Junkie<\/a>). \u201cI feel as though even if I
\ncontinued fighting at light heavyweight, it would be Top 5. I’d
\nlike to see the same thing here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hill then revealed that Hokit is the opponent he wants more than
\nany other.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want Josh Hokit first fight,\u201d Hill said. \u201cYou know, that’s
\ndefinitely a fight I want more than any other fight. That’s the
\nfight that I want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hill believes his fighting style will translate well to the heavier
\ndivision. The 35-year-old intends to bring the same pressure and
\npunching power that helped establish him as one of the UFC’s top
\nlight heavyweights during his ascent.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s something I’ve been considering for a while,\u201d Hill said,
\nfurther elaborating on his move up. \u201cI feel that now’s a good time.
\nHeavyweight can use some energy, can use some life, especially up
\nin the contenders and the rankings and things of that nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hokit (10-0) has never tasted defeat in his professional career.
\nThe controversial heavyweight defeated Derrick
\nLewis<\/a> at
\nUFC Freedom 250<\/a> in his last bout and has a growing beef with
\nformer two-division champ and interim heavyweight title challenger
\nAlex
