Nurmagomedov recently praised White\u2019s ability to separate business
\nfrom personal relationships. \u201cThe Eagle\u201d says White operates with
\ncold blood, which allows him to make tough decisions that are often
\ncriticized. He believes it is White\u2019s ability to make those
\ndecisions regardless of backlash that has made the UFC reach the
\npinnacle of success.<\/p>\n

Why Khabib Nurmagomedov believes Dana White\u2019s tough decisions
\npushed the UFC forward<\/h2>\n

The former UFC lightweight champ says White is like an Italian
\nmafia boss, for whom family always comes first. According to
\nNurmagomedov, in White\u2019s case, the UFC comes before anything else.
\nWhile Nurmagomedov acknowledges the contributions of several others
\nin the UFC\u2019s success, he believes White has always played the most
\npivotal role.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Dana] is very good at separating business and personal
\nrelationships,\u201d Nurmagomedov told Lex Fridman. \u201cFor him, they will
\nnever overlap. He draws a clear line between them. In business,
\nhe\u2019s extremely cold-blooded. He\u2019s made some major decisions
\nregardless of whether people like him or not. Those decisions were
\nbest for the UFC. He always had that mentality from those mafia
\nmovies where family comes first. Well, for him, the UFC always came
\nfirst. That\u2019s the only way he was able to push that brand forward.
\nOf course, a lot of people contributed to that\u2026 There were a lot of
\nthings that made the UFC unique, but the cherry on top was always
\nDana.\u201d<\/p>\n
