\nof the event, Dern addressed headliner Ian Garry<\/a>\u2019s
\nrecent comments about women running the world.<\/p>\n

Mackenzie Dern discusses traditional relationships before her
\nUFC 330 title defense<\/h2>\n

Garry recently drew a variety of reactions from fans and fellow
\nfighters for saying that the world would be a better place if women
\nran everything. However, the UFC women\u2019s strawweight champion
\ndisagrees with Garry. Dern says that while women in her family are
\nstrong, she comes from a traditional background. Dern likes being
\nprotected and cared for by her man, though she wouldn\u2019t hesitate to
\ngo to war alongside him if needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI come from a little bit more traditional upbringing,\u201d Dern said
\nat UFC 330 media day. \u201cObviously, the women in my family are super
\nstrong and independent. And they taught me how to be a strong
\nwoman. But I like the guy protecting, leading and doing that stuff.
\nAnd I like to just relax. If I need to go to war with him, I will.
\nBut I\u2019m a mommy. I think it\u2019s very good that we\u2019re strong women and
\nwe don\u2019t depend on guys. But I like the man taking the lead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dern looks to defend her title for the first time since winning it
\nlast year, while Garry challenges Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> for the welterweight championship, looking to snap
\nthe Dagestani\u2019s historic win streak.<\/p>\n
