\nPrates is confident in his countryman and recently addressed his

Carlos Prates praises former teammate Mauricio Ruffy, claims
\nBSD loss was an outlier<\/h2>\n

Speaking on AgFight’s \u201cDireto de Vegas\u201d podcast, Prates recalled
\nbeing present during fight week for Ruffy’s bout with St. Denis. He
\nclaims he witnessed circumstances surrounding the loss that he
\nwon’t publicly discuss.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was there the week of the fight with BSD and I saw what
\nhappened, but since Ruffy hasn\u2019t talked about it, I\u2019m not going to
\ntalk about it either,\u201d Prates said. \u201cI can only guarantee that
\nwasn\u2019t Ruffy in that Octagon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prates says Ruffy\u2019s takedown defense is the best at the
\nFighting Nerds<\/a> gym, insisting that if his former teammate ran
\nit back against St. Denis, he\u2019d come out on top every time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy has the best takedown defense at Fighting Nerds,\u201d Prates
\nadded. \u201cBenoit is very tough, but if you put Ruffy in there with
\nhim 10 times, he wins 12.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruffy can vault up the lightweight rankings with a win over
\nTsarukyan at UFC
\n331<\/a>, scheduled for Sept. 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
\nThe Brazilian now trains alongside featherweight champ Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> in Australia after leaving Fighting Nerds last
\nyear.<\/p>\n
