Medic headlined the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>\u2019s recent trip to Serbia, facing
\nDaniel
\nRodriguez<\/a> in front of his home fans. Medic recently revealed
\nthat he injured his knee on the first day of
\nUFC Belgrade<\/a> fight week.<\/p>\n

Uros Medic suffered a meniscus injury during UFC Belgrade fight
\nweek<\/h2>\n

Medic was able to pop his knee back into place, but it soon began
\nto swell. He recalled the stressful ordeal in a recent interview
\nwith MMA Junkie.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were just warming up and my knee popped out of place,\u201d Medic
\nsaid. \u201cI was like, \u2018Whoa, what is this?\u2019 I didn\u2019t feel any pain and
\nI tried to straighten my leg out and it popped back in. And I could
\nfeel right away it started to fill with liquid, started to
\nswell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Medic was diagnosed with a meniscus injury but declined medication,
\ninstead undergoing tissue work to reduce the swelling. As the
\nSerbian-American limped through fight week, he hoped word of his
\ninjury wouldn\u2019t leak. Medic ultimately made it to the Octagon,
\nwhere he needed just 30 seconds to dispatch Rodriguez and earn a
\n$100,000 performance bonus.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe go to the P.I., get checked up, see what\u2019s happening, and
\nthey\u2019re like, \u2018Looks like your ACL is fine, looks most likely like
\na meniscus injury,\u2019\u201d Medic added. \u201cI just said, \u2018Let\u2019s not dig into
\nthis too much, if you guys can do anything for me to be able to
\nwalk and run \u2026 I\u2019m not gonna take any medication or nothing.\u2019 So
\nthey just did deep tissue work, soft tissue work, just trying to
\nget as much fluid out as possible \u2026 It really helped me. I went
\ninto fight week limping, and I was begging God to not let people
\nsee me limping. This week was the fight; the fight itself was just
\nroutine work for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Medic (14-3) is expected to undergo a noninvasive procedure for the
\nknee injury and anticipates recovering within a month. The
\n33-year-old, who has never gone to the judges\u2019 scorecards as a
\nprofessional, is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, with
\nall four victories coming via first-round knockout.<\/p>\n
