\nretirement.<\/p>\n

Turner, who announced he\u2019s retiring from mixed martial arts in
\nMarch 2025 following a submission loss to Ignacio
\nBahamondes<\/a>, has now defeated both Edson
\nBarboza<\/a> and Fernandes in consecutive bouts via first-round
\nfinishes. He wants to keep the momentum going and inspire others
\nwith his comeback.<\/p>\n

Jalin Turner targets UFC lightweight rankings after stopping
\nKaue Fernandes<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe Tarantula\u201d said in a post-fight interview that the road back
\nto fighting has been challenging before paying homage to Barboza,
\nwho retired at UFC
\n330<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just been a lot, you know, it\u2019s been a tough road,\u201d Turner
\nsaid. \u201cThe retirement was tough. I just want to pay homage to Edson
\nBarboza. He retired tonight. Shout out to him for an amazing
\ncareer. It was a blessing to share the Octagon with him. And I know
\nhow tough that decision is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turner, who called for a ranked lightweight next, said he hopes his
\nOctagon return can motivate others going through hardships.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe being here right now is just about love,\u201d Turner said. \u201cI just
\nwant to help people. I want to shine a light; I\u2019m trying to inspire
\nothers no matter what they are going through in life, the ups and
\ndowns, as you can always keep pushing and persevering.\u201d<\/p>\n
