\nMorales<\/a> backstage.<\/p>\n

Morales (19-0) was in attendance when Garry (17-2) challenged
\nIslam
\nMakhachev<\/a> (29-1) for the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> welterweight title in the main
\nevent of UFC
\n330<\/a>. Despite suffering a unanimous decision loss, Garry gave
\nMakhachev a tough test and took a moment backstage to talk to
\npotentially the next challenger to the 170-pound title, Morales,
\nwho weighed in as a backup for UFC 330.<\/p>\n

Ian Garry calls for new wave of fighters to avoid trash talk
\nwhile confronting Michael Morales<\/h2>\n

Garry confronted Morales backstage about their recent feud while
\nthe undefeated Ecuadorian barely responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the s*** you talk, it’s OK. Make sure you back it up,\u201d Garry
\nsaid. \u201cI don’t know whatever story you made up about meeting me;
\nI’ve never encountered that sort, you know that, right? Listen,
\nyou’re a good fighter. Show up, keep winning, and you can do
\nanything. Does that make sense? You’ve got massive fights in this
\ndivision. You’ve got me, you’ve got [Carlos] Prates, you’ve got
\nIslam. Show up and fight. Does that make sense?\u201d<\/p>\n

Garry then talked up Morales before once again urging him to avoid
\ntrash talk.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’re an animal,\u201d Garry added. \u201cYou’re strong. I don’t know about
\nany story where I’ve met you and I’ve talked sh*t to you. In this
\nsport, people talk sh*t; I ignore it. You’re a good fighter. You’re
\nyoung, you’re strong up here, and that means you can do anything.
\nThat makes sense? Spread good, do good. You knock people out, you
\nbeat people up, that’s what gets respect. There are too many people
\nin this sport talking sh*t, being negative. We\u2019re the new
\ngeneration of the sport; change it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The
\nbeef<\/a> started with an alleged altercation between Garry and a
\nteammate of Morales at the UFC Performance Institute. Morales later
\nclaimed that Garry had already left when he arrived at the P.I. to
\nback his friend. While Morales is rallying for the next
\nwelterweight title shot, Makhachev considers Carlos
\nPrates<\/a> the most deserving contender.<\/p>\n
