\nOliveira<\/a> never wanted their rematch.<\/p>\n

Tsarukyan was rumored to be booked against Oliveira on Sept. 19 in
\nLos Angeles, but the matchup was scrapped before the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> officially announced the card.
\nHe will instead meet surging Brazilian contender Mauricio
\nRuffy<\/a> at UFC
\n331<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arman Tsarukyan believes Charles Oliveira preferred a potential
\nDiego Lopes fight<\/h2>\n

Tsarukyan questioned Oliveira’s withdrawal during a recent
\ninterview, saying the UFC told him the Brazilian needed time away
\nfrom training following the recent death of his longtime
\nChute Boxe<\/a> teammate, Alan Nascimento.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was supposed to be fighting Charles
\nOliveira<\/a> in the co-main event, five rounds, when I was in the
\nmountains they called me and said \u2018We\u2019ve got a new name for you,\u2019\u201d
\nTsarukyan told Ariel Helwani. \u201cI said, \u2018No problem.\u2019 [The reason
\nthe UFC gave for the withdrawal] was because Charles\u2019 friend died
\nand he cannot train. But I don\u2019t understand, in three or four days
\nhe\u2019s doing live streaming and back in camp.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tsarukyan believes Oliveira is now pivoting towards Diego
\nLopes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey probably already set up a fight with Diego Lopes,\u201d Tsarukyan
\nadded. \u201c[Oliveira] was just finding an excuse and now he\u2019s found
\nthe excuse. But he could beat me and dedicate the victory to his
\nfriend. Of course, fight me or Diego Lopes? Of course, he would
\nchoose Diego Lopes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tsarukyan beat Oliveira in a three-round bout at UFC
\n300<\/a> via split decision, with many claiming the latter deserved
\nthe judges\u2019 nod on the night<\/p>\n
