The former <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/organizations\/Ultimate-Fighting-Championship-2\"><br \/>\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> light heavyweight title<br \/>\nchallenger is now due back in court for a status hearing Sept. 21<br \/>\nin Sarpy County.<\/p>\n<h2>Former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith faces four felony<br \/>\ncharges stemming from an alleged July domestic incident in Gretna,<br \/>\nNebraska<\/h2>\n<p>Smith faces one Class 2 felony count involving an attempted Class 1<br \/>\noffense, a terroristic-threats charge and two counts of<br \/>\nfirst-degree false imprisonment, all classified as Class 3A<br \/>\nfelonies. A Class 2 felony in Nebraska can carry a prison term of<br \/>\none to 50 years, while Class 3A felonies carry up to three years of<br \/>\nimprisonment and 18 months of post-release supervision.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors allege that Smith became involved in an altercation<br \/>\nwith his wife at a Gretna, Nebraska, bar on July 26. They claim<br \/>\nSmith threatened to kill his wife, forced her into his vehicle and<br \/>\nlater attempted to strike her with the vehicle after she exited it.<br \/>\nHis wife was not physically injured, according to prosecutors&#8217;<br \/>\naccount.<\/p>\n<p>Smith has not publicly addressed the allegations.
