\nBrito<\/a> had some tricks up his sleeve in his fight against
\nNamo
\nFazil<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brito (20-6) took on a surging Fazil in a welterweight matchup in
\nthe main event of
\nWeek 2<\/a> of
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> 2026. While Brito looked
\ndangerous early in the fight, Fazil\u2019s pressure put him on the back
\nfoot as the bout progressed.<\/p>\n

However, Brito shut Fazil\u2019s lights off with a vicious right hand
\nearly in the third round to earn an
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> contract. He notably planned to
\npull off the finish right in front of UFC CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brito knows that it looked like he was leaving everything in the
\nOctagon in the back-and-forth bout. However, the Brazilian claims
\nhe was waiting for the right moment.<\/p>\n

In the final round, when his back was against the cage, Brito
\nnoticed he was fighting close to White. That\u2019s when he decided to
\nlaunch the missile of a right hand that flattened Fazil. He also
\nsays he is ready to make his UFC debut as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cI move different,\u201d Brito said in the post-fight interview. \u201cI cut
\nangles in a completely different way. And throughout the fight, it
\nlooked like I was going for it all. Believe me, I was saving some
\nthings; I knew I was gonna need it at the end. And I saw Dana right
\nthere, I thought, \u2018I\u2019m gonna do this right in front of the boss.
\nHe\u2019s gonna see it.\u2019 I\u2019m gonna be ready\u2026 I want to fight as soon as
\npossible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brito came up short against Oban
\nElliott<\/a> in his first DWCS opportunity in 2023. He then went 3-1
\non the regional circuit, finishing all of those wins to earn
\nanother shot at a UFC contract.<\/p>\n
