Fresh off a 34-second knockout victory in his PFL debut earlier
\nthis year, lightweight Dakota Bush<\/a>
\nwill return to action at PFL Tampa, where he\u2019ll take on Morquez
\nForest<\/a> in a showcase bout. Bush will look to build on his
\nmomentum. Having previously competed in
\nLegacy Fighting Alliance<\/a> and the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>, Bush feels he has found a home
\nin
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a>. His arrival comes as the company
\nmerges with
\nMost Valuable Promotions<\/a> and opportunities emerge throughout
\nthe roster.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Sherdog.com, Bush discussed his arrival in the
\nPFL, his future in a fast-moving division and the timing of his
\nopportunity.<\/p>\n

Dakota Bush targets Morquez Forest and the PFL lightweight
\nrankings after his explosive promotional debut<\/h2>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been amazing, man,\u201d Bush said about his arrival to the PFL.
\n\u201cIt just kind of validated what everyone around me already knew. I
\nbelieve I\u2019m one of the best fighters in the world, I just needed a
\nplatform to prove it on, and the PFL has done that for me. I\u2019m
\nsuper excited to get back in there again and show my updated skill
\nset and prove to the world that I am one of the best out
\nthere.\u201d<\/p>\n

After making his debut in spectacular fashion, Bush is not looking
\nto rush his ascent in the division. Instead, he plans to produce
\nmore highlight-reel performances and gradually climb toward the top
\nof the lightweight rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone wants to be the champion, that sounds great when you put
\nit on paper and what not, but for me, my goal every time I step
\ninto the cage is just to have my best performance to date. I really
\nfocus on that, when you do that and you don\u2019t look too far ahead,
\nyou just focus on stacking them wins, and you get in the position
\nI\u2019m in right now. I feel I can be a mainstay in this promotion for
\na very long time and soon you\u2019re going to see me fighting upwards
\ninto the rankings. Business first in Tampa, I\u2019ve got to check that
\nbox first, and get another great finish.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bush recognizes Forest\u2019s experience but believes he is the better
\noverall fighter.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a tough guy, has a record of 8-1, he\u2019s fought in
\nCFFC<\/a> which is a good promotion, they send a lot of guys to the
\nnext level and he\u2019s here now. He\u2019s well-rounded, he does the right
\nthings, but I just think that I\u2019m a better fighter all across the
\nboard. It\u2019s my job to go out there and prove that to him, to the
\nworld, and to myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although he preferred the quick first-round finish in his PFL
\ndebut, Bush understands that he must always be prepared for a
\ngrueling fight. His desire to serve as a role model to his kids
\nhelps prepare him for any challenge and reminds them to never give
\nup on themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my family, they\u2019ve sacrificed so much for me to be in this
\nposition and I\u2019ve got two sets of eyes looking up to me, I can\u2019t
\nmess this up. When things get hard or the opportunities present
\nthemselves for you to quit, there\u2019s so many spots in the fights
\nwhere you have the choice \u201cDo I take the easy way out or do I
\nfight?\u201d and that\u2019s what pushes me, man. It\u2019s easy to tell them what
\nto do but if you\u2019re not living it, how are they supposed to believe
\nit and look up to it? So I\u2019m trying to just prove it to my kids.
\nThis is what hard work looks like. This is what you have to do. One
\nday they\u2019re going to look back and know that their Dad never quit,
\nhe worked his hardest, and he gave it everything he ever had. This
\nis what I\u2019m trying to prove here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether the fight becomes a three-round war or ends with another
\nquick finish, Bush promises to dominate Forest and believes a
\nvictory could propel him toward the rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we take care of business and do my job, there\u2019s no reason why I
\nshouldn\u2019t be fighting into the rankings in my next fight or in the
\nrankings. I\u2019m not 100% sure if [champion] Usman
\nNurmagomedov<\/a> is leaving the company, word on the street he is,
\nand that frees up a lot of movement in the division because he\u2019s
\nalready beat me so many guys. For me, the opportunities are endless
