\nPantoja<\/a> believes his accolades warrant more respect than he
\nreceives.<\/p>\n

The former
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> flyweight titleholder will have
\nan opportunity to reclaim the title against Joshua Van<\/a>
\nat UFC
\n331<\/a> on Sept. 19 in Los Angeles. He suffered an arm injury early
\nin their first meeting in December last year and has been focused
\non recovery and his Octagon return ever since.<\/p>\n

Alexandre Pantoja says an early arm injury defines his view of
\nfirst Joshua Van fight<\/h2>\n

Pantoja believes his title loss is sometimes portrayed as though
\nVan simply beat him, which the Brazilian disputes.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe not beat me, you know?\u201d Pantoja said in a recent interview. \u201cI
\nknow like an athlete, I lose the fight, I know I lose my belt, I’m
\nnot my champion anymore, but it’s not someone beat me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pantoja also pointed to his strength of schedule at 125 pounds,
\nnoting that he has faced much of the division’s elite, defeated
\nsome opponents multiple times and put together an eight-fight
\nwinning streak before losing the belt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fight with the best fighters in my division,\u201d Pantoja said. \u201cI
\nfight with the whole Top 10, I beat some guys three times and I
\nhave eight wins in a row, you know, with the best fighters.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Pantoja admitted that the lack of recognition doesn’t
\nbother him enough to change his approach.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t have a lot to recognize, you know, but for me that’s
\nokay,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat I want is to be the best fighter in the
\nworld. I try to be that guy every day in my life, because I’m
\ntraining very hard. Joshua Van can be sure, I want that fight more
\nthan ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
