Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, played host to the
\n
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> on Saturday night, as the
\npromotion concluded its Summer Series with an entertaining
\ncard.<\/p>\n

In the
\nPFL Tampa<\/a> main event, the legendary Cris
\nCyborg<\/a> potentially competed for the final time when she faced
\nlongtime UFC bantamweight contender Ketlen
\nVieira<\/a>. Because Vieira missed weight, only Cyborg was eligible
\nto win the PFL women\u2019s featherweight title.<\/p>\n

Ketlen Vieira gives Cris Cyborg a major test in the PFL title
\nfight<\/h2>\n

The fight delivered in impressive fashion. Cyborg spent much of the
\nopening 10 minutes circling and picking her shots, while Vieira
\nanswered with short right hands. The final three rounds were less
\nstraightforward.<\/p>\n

Cyborg secured takedowns in the third and fifth rounds as Vieira
\nbecame an increasing threat. Cyborg\u2019s control of the range had
\ndisappeared by the fourth, when Vieira cut her and finished the
\nround on top. When the fifth round began, commentator Dan Hardy<\/a>
\nsuggested Vieira might be ahead. However, Cyborg did enough to
\nclaim three rounds and earn a unanimous decision in what was
\nperhaps the most competitive fight of her career.<\/p>\n

The co-main event featured former PFL titleholder Gadzhi
\nRabadanov<\/a> welcoming Tracy
\nReeder<\/a> to the promotion. The Russian made quick work of his
\nAmerican opponent. Rabadanov used his jab to close the distance,
\ngained top position and landed punches until referee Bryan Miner
\nstopped the fight late in the first round.<\/p>\n

An outstanding women\u2019s flyweight matchup saw Sabrinna
\nde Sousa<\/a> defeat former UFC title challenger Taila
\nSantos<\/a> in a bout that could determine the division\u2019s next No. 1
\ncontender. Dakota
\nDitcheva<\/a> is injured, while Liz
\nCarmouche<\/a> is scheduled to face Jena Bishop<\/a>
\nfor the title later this year.<\/p>\n

De Sousa impressed from the opening bell. The multiple-time amateur
\nworld champion attacked her fellow Brazilian with a trio of right
\nhands early and established the pressure-heavy approach she
\nmaintained throughout the fight. Santos\u2019 rally early in the third
\nround represented de Sousa\u2019s only significant setback. There was
\nlittle doubt about the winner when the scores were announced, as de
\nSousa vaulted herself toward the top of the division.<\/p>\n

The main-card opener featured kick-heavy light heavyweights
\nLuke
\nTrainer<\/a> and Roland
\nDunlap<\/a>. Both men traded damaging strikes in the first round and
\nwere staggered by jabs late in the frame. Dunlap started well in
\nthe second round before Trainer landed an Anderson
\nSilva<\/a>-style front kick to the face that knocked him
\nunconscious.<\/p>\n

\nfinal MMA bout headlines PFL Tampa: Tune in on Saturday, Aug. 22 at
\n9 p.m. ET on ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The standout matchup for longtime PFL followers was the
\npreliminary-card headliner between 2025 PFL World Tournament
\nchampion Marcirley
\nAlves<\/a> and PFL Africa champion Nkosi
\nNdebele<\/a>. Ndebele started quickly, using his jab and kicks to
\ndominate the first round. Alves responded in the second with
\naggressive body kicks \u2014 one of which caught Ndebele\u2019s arm and
\nappeared to cause significant damage \u2014 and powerful counterstrikes.
\nNdebele\u2019s size and control ultimately prevailed, as he rebounded to
\ntake a close third round and earn a unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

European prospect Gino van
\nSteenis<\/a> also earned a victory, while Javid
\nBasharat<\/a> survived a significant first-round knockdown to take a
\ndecision over Movsar
\nIbragimov<\/a>. Dakota Bush<\/a>
\nprevailed by a controversial decision, and sizable underdog
\nNatan
\nSchulte<\/a> walked down and dominated Makkasharip
\nZaynukov<\/a> in the night\u2019s biggest upset.<\/p>\n

Daniel
\nMarcos<\/a> earned a victory after opponent Magomed
\n\u201cTiger\u201d Magomedov<\/a> suffered a dislocated shoulder. Magomedov\u2019s
\ncornerman, Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a>, threw in the towel early in the third round.<\/p>\n

The opening bout saw top Irish prospect Eoin
\nSheridan<\/a> finish James Vake<\/a>
\nin devastating fashion. The accomplished kickboxer landed a series
\nof knees to the body before connecting with a knee to the head that
