In an interview posted by the PFL on X, John Martin reflected on
\nthe rivalry between Eblen and van Steenis, revealing his
\ndisappointment with the injury that forced their scheduled rematch
\nto be postponed. He also recalled the chaotic scene that followed
\nEblen’s interim title victory over Impa
\nKasanganay<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nCostello van Steenis\u2019 postponed title rematch<\/h2>\n

After Eblen won his fight against Kasanganay, van Steenis
\nunexpectedly entered the cage, setting the stage for a dramatic
\ntitle unification showdown. Martin’s comments suggest the promotion
\nstill sees the matchup as a major attraction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a skirmish in the cage afterwards when Costello
\nunexpectedly climbed in,\u201d Martin said. \u201cAnd I got a little
\nnervous.\u201d The PFL CEO also recalled Eblen telling him, \u201cI’m going
\nafter him right now,\u201d before he replied, \u201cAlright, please, because
\nI’m the one that’s going to end up getting hurt in this.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then emphasized the significance of the rematch and the bad
\nblood between the two.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat fight, when that happens, that is going to be the biggest
\nfight in the history of the PFL,\u201d Martin added. \u201cThose guys do not
\nlike each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eblen and van Steenis locked horns for the first time in July 2025,
\nwhen the latter secured a late submission win, marking the lone
\ndefeat of the former\u2019s career so far.<\/p>\n
