\nHernandez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cRobocop\u201d earned a hard-fought unanimous decision win over
\nHernandez in their recent
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> main event, surviving his
\nopponent\u2019s constant pressure to secure the victory. Rodrigues
\nexplained his approach during a post-fight interview after
\nUFC Sacramento<\/a>, detailing the mental hurdles he had to overcome
\nin the bout.<\/p>\n

Rodrigues says patience and experience kept him composed in the
\nUFC Sacramento main event<\/h2>\n

Rodrigues admitted that he has faded and fatigued in earlier bouts
\nin the UFC. While he was doing significant damage with calf kicks
\nagainst Hernandez, the latter\u2019s relentless wrestling never ceased,
\ndespite fighting out of southpaw for the majority of the later
\nrounds. Rodrigues claims he wasn\u2019t discouraged by Hernandez’s
\ndurability.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started calf kicks. I couldn’t finish. He came back,\u201d Rodrigues
\nsaid. \u201cHe hit me really good, but I put my mind on the place and I
\nsaid, \u2018OK, OK, I went in this position before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodrigues was determined not to let frustration dictate his
\nperformance and emphasized pacing himself for five rounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to go back and then, you know, like organize my thoughts
\nand keep going forward,\u201d Rodrigues added. \u201cThe fight is not over
\nyet. I have three more rounds to put my pace in and then to find a
\ndifferent way to win. I just keep my patience, man\u2026 And I said,
\n\u2018OK, no problem. We have more time. We have more rounds to fight.\u2019
\nSo, I just calm down, calm down.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bout earned both men Fight of the Night honors, with Rodrigues
\nextending his win streak to four straight. He called out former
\nchamp Dricus Du
\nPlessis<\/a> in his post-fight interview.<\/p>\n
