\nBarboza<\/a> has made it clear that his retirement is final and he
\nhas no plans to reverse his decision.<\/p>\n

Just days after announcing the end of his 17-year professional
\nmixed martial arts career, the Brazilian has a message for managers
\nand promoters who might try to entice him back into
\ncompetition.<\/p>\n

Barboza rules out an MMA comeback after ending his 17-year
\nfighting career<\/h2>\n

Barboza announced his retirement after suffering a fourth
\nconsecutive defeat, getting finished by Esteban
\nRibovics<\/a> at UFC
\n330<\/a> in Philadelphia. The 39-year-old then removed his gloves
\ninside the Octagon as the crowd gave him a standing ovation and
\nchanted his name.<\/p>\n

For Barboza, having his children beside him made the moment
\nparticularly emotional.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire arena spontaneously chanting \u2018Barboza,\u2019 with my kids by
\nmy side inside the Octagon \u2014 they had never been to one of my
\nfights before,\u201d Barboza told Sherdog. \u201cDefinitely, that was the
\nmost emotional moment of my career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barboza said age wasn\u2019t the primary factor behind his decision.
\nInstead, a severe left-eye injury suffered against Lerone
\nMurphy<\/a> proved to be the turning point. He emphasized that he
\ncan still beat many fighters but acknowledged that competing at the
\nhighest level is no longer realistic for him. Barboza then made his
\nmessage to potential suitors clear.<\/p>\n

\u201cManagers, event promoters, please leave me alone. Don\u2019t offer me
\nany fights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

After dedicating his life to combat sports since childhood, Barboza
\nknows walking away will be an adjustment. However, retirement does
\nnot mean leaving the sport behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver these 32 years, I\u2019ve had the opportunity to train with dozens
\nof coaches from all over the world, and they taught me so much,\u201d
\nBarboza added. \u201cKeeping all that knowledge to myself would be
