\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> Hall of Famer Michael
\nBisping<\/a> believes the rule under which Paddy
\nPimblett<\/a>\u2019s purse is being withheld is extremely
\nunreasonable.<\/p>\n

Pimblett scored a first-round submission win over Benoit St.
\nDenis<\/a> at
\nUFC 329<\/a> at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in July. \u201cThe Baddy\u201d
\nhasn\u2019t yet received his purse for the fight due to a highly
\ncriticized rule. Pimblett\u2019s purse is being withheld because he
\ncelebrated his win by jumping on the cage. Max
\nHolloway<\/a> and Gable
\nSteveson<\/a>, who also celebrated their respective wins at UFC 329
\nby jumping on the cage, are also under investigation.<\/p>\n

Paddy Pimblett’s UFC 329 purse remains withheld over his
\npost-fight cage celebration<\/h2>\n

Bisping believes this rule needs to change for good. The former UFC
\nmiddleweight champion believes it is absolutely justified to climb
\non the cage after a win.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt all goes back to when Paddy beat Benoit St. Denis. What did he
\ndo? He celebrated. He jumped on the cage as a lot of fighters do,\u201d
\nBisping said on his YouTube channel. \u201cMax Holloway did it. Gable
\nSteveson did it. And they\u2019re also under investigation and could
\nhave their purses withheld or potentially are going to get fined
\nthousands of dollars. This is utterly ridiculous. I hate this
\nrule\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

The Englishman then discussed how he did the same after winning his
\ntitle and that it\u2019s hard to contain the excitement of a big win.
\n\u201cThe Count\u201d also believes it\u2019s a way for the athletic commissions
\nto earn some money on the side.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did it at
\nUFC 199<\/a> in California, one of the strictest commissions in the
\nworld,\u201d Bisping added. \u201cA lot of fighters jump on top of the cage.
\nYou\u2019ve just won in front of thousands of people and millions
\nwatching around the world. You\u2019re allowed to celebrate winning.
\nBoxers jump on the ropes all the time. But MMA fighters jump on the
\ncage and suddenly they get fined or have their purses withheld.
\nIt\u2019s nonsense. It\u2019s a crime. It\u2019s the athletic commissions trying
\nto get a few bucks for themselves. This rule needs to be
\nchanged.\u201d<\/p>\n
