Song claims to be well-equipped to deal with Nurmagomedov\u2019s
\ngrappling prowess ahead of their
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> bantamweight clash at
\nUFC Shanghai<\/a>. The Chinese 135-pounder even worked with Georgian
\nwrestlers who are familiar with the wrestling system used by
\nNurmagomedov\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

Yadong Song trained with Olympic and world champions ahead of
\nUFC Shanghai<\/h2>\n

While Song is a competent grappler, he\u2019s well aware of the
\nchallenge Nurmagomedov presents and is confident should the fight
\nhit the mat.<\/p>\n

\u201cUmar is a very tough guy,\u201d Song said in a recent interview. \u201cEven
\neverybody knows he’s a very good grappler. So, I just prefer to use
\nstriking… But if you want to grapple, let’s grapple. Doesn’t
\nmatter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Song further revealed that he traveled to Georgia before beginning
\nhis latest training camp, where he worked with Olympic and world
\nchampions familiar with the style used by Khabib
\nNurmagomedov<\/a>‘s team.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, before the camp start, I went to Georgia to train with the
\nOlympic champs, world champs,\u201d Song added. \u201cThey teach me a lot and
\nthey know what Khabib’s team does. So, they teach me some tricks. I
\nfeel super ready for this fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
