\nApodaca<\/a> has little time to celebrate the biggest win of her
\ncareer.<\/p>\n

Apodaca pulled off the biggest upset in
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> history on Aug. 25, earning an
\n
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> contract after defeating heavily
\nfavored Bella Mir<\/a>
\nover three rounds. When asked how she plans to celebrate the major
\nvictory, Apodaca said that she has a day job obligation scheduled
\nfor the next morning.<\/p>\n

Alex Apodaca plans to keep accounting job after upsetting Bella
\nMir on DWCS<\/h2>\n

Despite beating Mir and pulling off the biggest upset in DWCS
\nhistory, the 32-year-old bantamweight won’t be stepping away from
\nher day job just yet. Apodaca revealed after the fight that she had
\nan early morning commitment at her accounting firm.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am gonna party my *ss off, but I have work in the morning. I
\nhave a call at like 7:30 a.m.,\u201d Apodaca said at the post-fight
\npresser following
\nWeek 3<\/a> of DWCS Season 10.<\/p>\n

Apodaca works full-time as a consultant at an accounting firm, a
\ncareer she plans to maintain despite signing with the UFC.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually don\u2019t think I\u2019m just gonna quit,\u201d she added. \u201cI think
\nI\u2019m gonna keep doing it. I like using my brain, so I\u2019m gonna keep
\ndoing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Balancing the two careers has not always been easy, particularly
\naround fight camps and weight cuts, but Apodaca credited her
\nco-workers and bosses for supporting her MMA career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve been very supportive. I have so much gratitude towards
\nthem for that,\u201d Apodaca said. \u201cI\u2019ll be on video calls with a black
\neye and they are totally just used to it now. It\u2019s the coolest
\nthing ever to have that amount of support from all the people in my
\nlife, especially the folks I work for.\u201d<\/p>\n
