\nMakhachev<\/a>\u2019s take on the featherweight champ\u2019s upcoming title
\ndefense holds considerable weight.<\/p>\n

Volkanovski (28-4) is set to put his
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> featherweight title on the line
\nagainst Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a> (20-0) at
\nUFC 333<\/a> on Oct. 24 at Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
\nMakhachev believes it will be a highly competitive bout, which
\nEvloev is also aware of.<\/p>\n

Makhachev backs Movsar Evloev to dethrone Volkanovski at UFC
\n333<\/h2>\n

Makhachev predicts that Evloev being five years younger will help
\nhim dethrone the 37-year-old Volkanovski. The UFC welterweight
\nchamp believes that while Volkanovski is still dangerous, he\u2019s past
\nhis prime.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Movsar] knows himself that the fight won\u2019t be easy, that
\nVolkanovski is a tough opponent for anyone,\u201d Makhachev said at a
\nrecent presser in Russia. \u201cBut I think Movsar will manage with his
\nyouth. Volkanovski, honestly speaking, is not at the same peak he
\nwas a couple of years ago. Even though he is still one of the best
\nfighters. I think it\u2019ll be a very competitive fight but I hope
\nMovsar will do his job.\u201d<\/p>\n

Volkanovski made two unsuccessful bids for the lightweight title
\nwhen Makhachev was the champion at 155 pounds. The Australian gave
\nMakhachev one of the toughest tests of his career in their first
\nouting in 2023, but suffered a decision loss. Makhachev then
\nknocked Volkanovski out with a head kick in their rematch later
\nthat year.<\/p>\n
