\nUFC Shanghai<\/a> on Aug. 29, stopping fellow promotional newcomer

\nRojas<\/a> in the second round, earning a Performance of the Night
\nbonus for his efforts. He recently revealed what drives him both in
\nand out of competition.<\/p>\n

The first round between Hasan and Rojas was closely contested. The
\nformer pulled ahead in the second round and eventually found the
\nfinish, dropping his opponent with a counter-right hand before
\nfinishing with a follow-up strike to cap off an eventful Octagon
\ndebut.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the fight, Hasan explained the deeper meaning he
\nattaches to fighting.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t want to get all religious or spiritual or anything like
\nthat, but I feel like we’re all put on this earth to give back in
\nsome way,\u201d Hasan said in a post-fight interview. \u201cI feel like when
\nI’m doing this, even when I’m just training and I’m helping out
\npeople in my gym, I feel like I’m giving my truest gift back to the
\nworld. And I feel like that’s our duty as men in this world: to
\ngive back in one way or another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hasan competed less than three weeks prior to his UFC debut,
\nearning a contract with a quick first-round knockout victory on
\n
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n
