Usman

\nNurmagomedov<\/a>‘s knockout loss to Yadong Song<\/a>
\nand the discourse surrounding his immediate actions after seeing
\nhis brother hit the canvas.<\/p>\n

Song flatlined Umar with an uppercut in the second round of their
\nbantamweight clash in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>. Just as Song ended the
\nUFC Shanghai<\/a> headliner with some follow-up hammer-fists, Usman
\nstormed the cage to check on his brother.<\/p>\n

Song began celebrating and briefly crossed paths with a concerned
\nUsman, who seemingly loaded up an instinctive elbow strike in the
\nheat of the moment, but didn\u2019t follow through.<\/p>\n

Usman denies trying to hit Yadong Song after rushing toward the
\ncage following Umar Nurmagomedov\u2019s knockout<\/h2>\n

Usman took to social media in the aftermath of UFC Shanghai to
\naddress his brother\u2019s first-ever professional loss via a finish and
\nalso touched on fans accusing him of trying to hit a celebrating
\nSong. The
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> star first downplayed the
\nmagnitude of Umar\u2019s loss by putting things into perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are making such a huge tragedy out of this, they should
\njust calm down,\u201d Usman wrote on Instagram in Russian. \u201cThere are
\nthings far worse. You don\u2019t have to think for long, just look at
\nwhat is happening in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then denied that he intended to hit Song and slammed those
\ncriticizing him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd regarding the claims that I supposedly wanted to hit his
\nopponent, if I had wanted to, I would have hit him,\u201d Usman added.
\n\u201cYou angry, petty, and jealous people. Your problem is that you
\nhave never had and never will never have an understanding of family
\nlove.\u201d<\/p>\n

Usman is currently a free agent, having exhausted his PFL contract.
\nHe is rumored to be signing with the UFC once his exclusive 90-day
\nnegotiation window with the PFL concludes.<\/p>\n
