Prates claims that if he fights Makhachev, who recently defeated
\nIan
\nGarry<\/a> to retain his title, he would spend the early portion of
\nthe fight getting dominated by the Russian’s wrestling before
\nturning the tables late and claiming the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> welterweight title via
\nknockout.<\/p>\n

Carlos Prates explains why UFC 330 made him more confident
\nagainst Islam Makhachev<\/h2>\n

Prates, the frontrunner for the next title shot at 170 pounds,
\nexpects Makhachev’s grappling to create problems early, but
\nbelieves he can weather the storm and find a late finish.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Garry was able to get Makhachev off his back, I can do it too,\u201d
\nPrates said. \u201cI became even more confident\u2026 Based on the things I
\nsaw and the amount of time we have to train, I was like, \u2018F*ck, I
\nthink we can do this.\u2019 I already thought so and now I saw Garry
\ndefend certain positions the same way I do, like the back against
\nthe cage. I do that a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
