Darby (8-1) took on Patrick
\nRivera<\/a> (13-5) in the main event at
\nWeek 4<\/a> of
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> on Sept. 1. Darby masterfully
\nbroke Rivera down till referee Kerry Hatley called in the cageside
\ndoctor, who saw enough damage to stop the fight midway into the
\nthird round. Darby earned a UFC contract for his striking
\nclinic.<\/p>\n

Adam Darby fulfills eight-year UFC prediction with DWCS
\ncontract<\/h2>\n

Darby had posted a photo on Instagram last week showing a
\nscreenshot from the notes app on his phone. He had written down his
\ndream of being a UFC fighter while he was still an amateur in 2018.
\nDarby believes his UFC contract is just a small step towards his
\nfinal goal of becoming a UFC champion.<\/p>\n

Darby wants to kickstart his UFC career as soon as possible,
\npreferably at
\nUFC Paris<\/a> on Sept. 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been in the making for 10 years,\u201d Darby said. \u201cIn my
\nnotes app on my phone, I put one life, one chance, UFC or nothing
\nelse. That was eight years ago, and I’ve lived with it ever since.
\nSo, I’ve been pushing to get here. This is the foot in the door
\nnow. I’m not just here to stay here and not fight. I’m going to
\nfight as soon as possible. So, I’m gonna ask Dana to get me on as
\nsoon as possible\u2026 I’m good to go. I love to fight. They want me out
\nnext weekend. I’m good to go. Sept. 5, France.\u201d<\/p>\n
