Hawaii is a targeted future destination for the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During his recent appearance on \u201cThe Rich Eisen Show,\u201d UFC CEO
\nDana
\nWhite<\/a> was asked where he\u2019d like to stage an event the promotion
\nhas never visited previously. Hawaii immediately came to mind,
\nalthough he explained that infrastructure has prevented the
\npromotion from staging an event there, but a new arena is
\napparently in the works.<\/p>\n

Dana White points to a new Hawaii arena as the key to UFC’s
\nlong-awaited debut<\/h2>\n

According to White, the state’s existing infrastructure has been
\nthe biggest obstacle to staging an event. However, with a new arena
\ntargeted for 2028-29, taking the promotion to the island state is a
\npriority.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of our biggest markets since day one has been Hawaii, and
\nwe\u2019ve still never put on an event in Hawaii,\u201d White said. \u201cWe\u2019ve
\nhad multiple world champions from Hawaii. The infrastructure there
\ncan\u2019t support a UFC event. But now they\u2019re building a new arena
\nthere. Supposed to be done in [2028, 2029].\u201d<\/p>\n

White believes Hawaii would be a particularly attractive
\ndestination for both fans and the UFC’s staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like destinations where people want to go,\u201d White added. \u201cWhen
\nwe do UFC Hawaii, people will lose their minds. Who doesn\u2019t want to
\ngo to UFC Hawaii? So, off the top of my head, you’re firing that at
\nme\u2026 When I think about UFC Hawaii, that will be a fun one.\u201d<\/p>\n
