Marlon
\nVera<\/a> doesn\u2019t want to live with regret, but admits his coaching
\nchange was a tough decision.<\/p>\n

Vera (23-12-1) is scheduled to fight Charles
\nJourdain<\/a> (18-8) on Sept. 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
\nThe former title challenger recently revealed that he is no longer
\nworking with his longtime striking coach Jason Parillo. He claims
\nthe split was amicable, but something had to change to halt his
\nlosing streak in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vera says it was hard to part ways with Parillo as they didn\u2019t have
\nany problems with each other since initially linking up in 2018.
\n\u201cChito\u201d didn\u2019t want to get to the end of his career and wonder
\nwhether it would’ve played out differently if he had made the
\nchange.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was trying to figure out what I need, what is not getting me to
\nwin these close decisions,\u201d Vera told Ariel Helwani. \u201cIt was a
\npretty hard decision because we didn\u2019t have a problem or nothing
\nbad happened. I was just like, what can I do moving forward to give
\nmyself a chance to kill this bad streak? And I just told myself, \u2018I
\ndon\u2019t want my career to go to the very end and then question what
\nif I had made a change.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Vera has now joined the team of fellow UFC bantamweight Raul Rosas
\nJr.<\/a> Vera\u2019s own gym is the base for the new team, with Rosas
\nJr.\u2019s father handling management. He has also brought back his old
\nwrestling and kickboxing coaches.<\/p>\n

\u201cEventually, I kind of merged into Rosas Jr.\u2019s team,\u201d Vera added.
\n\u201cAnd now we use my gym as headquarters for all of us\u2026 Right now,
\nhis dad handles times and training. They already have a full team
\n— a kickboxing coach, a wrestling coach; both are from Russia. I
\nalso brought back my old wrestling coach and kickboxing coach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vera is now looking to end a four-fight slump at UFC
\n331<\/a>.<\/p>\n
