Mir (4-1) was a -6000 favorite, the biggest in DWCS history, going
\ninto her fight against Alex
\nApodaca<\/a> (5-1) on
\nWeek 3<\/a> of Season 10. However, Apodaca earned a closely
\ncontested unanimous decision win over Mir in one of the biggest
\nupsets ever to earn an
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n

Mir\u2019s mother, Jennifer Mir, lashed out at Apodaca and the judges
\nover social media following her daughter\u2019s loss. Jennifer later
\napologized to everyone while saying that her reaction was in
\ndefense of the hate Bella was facing on social media after the
\nloss.<\/p>\n

\nreaction to Alex Apodaca loss<\/h2>\n

Addressing her mother\u2019s comments, Bella says that it was just her
\nprotective instinct. Bella further jokes that her mother made it
\nslightly easier by diverting all the hate onto herself. \u201cMy mom commenting on stuff obviously didn\u2019t really help the
\nsituation, but she honestly kind of took the fire off of me,\u201d Bella
\ntold Ariel Helwani. \u201cEveryone started hating on her more than
\nhating on me. It\u2019s crazy. It\u2019s like, \u2018Mom, you literally protect me
\nin every situation I\u2019ve ever lived in and you literally protected
\nme more in this one.\u2019 I don\u2019t even know how she could have done
\nthat, but she did.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Bella, it was just her mother being overwhelmed by
\nemotions, which were fueled by alcohol.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it was just the heat of the moment,\u201d Bella added. \u201cMy mom
\nis very emotional… And obviously drinking that night didn\u2019t
\nreally help. I think she was just raging out. She obviously
\napologized to everyone and admitted that she made a mistake and
\nthat\u2019s the best anyone can do after making a mistake: own up to
\nit.\u201d<\/p>\n
