Khamzat

\u201cBorz\u201d had recently shortlisted Sean
\nStrickland<\/a>, Nassourdine
\nImavov<\/a>, Dricus Du
\nPlessis<\/a> and Caio
\nBorralho<\/a> for his next fight. Borralho had accepted Chimaev\u2019s
\ncallout, proposing a matchup in November at Madison Square Garden.
\nChimaev\u2019s stance has now changed.<\/p>\n

Chimaev says UFC told him Caio Borralho and Dricus Du Plessis
\nare injured<\/h2>\n

Chimaev claims the UFC recently informed him that Borralho and du
\nPlessis are currently injured. Meanwhile, Imavov is expected to
\nchallenge Strickland for the UFC middleweight title next. While
\nChimaev acknowledged Imavov as a deserving contender, he will be
\nready to face either \u201cThe Sniper\u201d or Strickland if their title
\nfight doesn\u2019t come to fruition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI call out everyone,\u201d Chimaev told Red Corner MMA. \u201cI want to come
\nback as soon as possible. Earlier, I said that I want to return in
\nOctober, and I called Hunter. They told me that Caio and du Plessis
\nare injured. We\u2019ll see what happens; I don\u2019t know exactly. Maybe
\nImavov and Strickland won\u2019t fight and I will be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chimaev (15-1) won the middleweight title with a dominant unanimous
\ndecision win over du Plessis last year. \u201cBorz\u201d was a massive
\nfavorite going into his first title defense against Strickland this
\npast May. However, Chimaev evidently fatigued and suffered his
\nfirst professional loss against Strickland in a massive upset.
\nWhile UFC CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a> had initially said that Chimaev wanted to move up, the
\nChechen-born fighter has reiterated his desire to stay at 185
\npounds.<\/p>\n
