Jean
\nSilva<\/a> scored an important win in the main event of
\nNoche UFC 4<\/a> inside the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale,
\nArizona, on Saturday, but he seemed completely uninterested
\nthroughout.<\/p>\n

Opponent Jose
\nDelgado<\/a> controlled the pace in the opening round just by
\nthrowing a few punches; Silva essentially didn\u2019t even throw one
\nstrike for at least three minutes. Delgado (12-3) dropped \u201cLord\u201d in
\nthe first and easily won the frame, but Silva (18-3) woke up in the
\nsecond and once he established control, he never looked back.<\/p>\n

Silva cracked his foe with a right cross midway through the third,
\nand after a scramble on the canvas, the Brazilian seized the local
\nfighter\u2019s back,
\nsunk in a one-armed rear-naked choke, and secured the
\nsubmission<\/a>. The end officially came at 2:57 of the third; Silva
\nproclaimed that he will eventually be the champion at
\nfeatherweight.<\/p>\n

The co-feature saw flyweight contenders Joseph
\nMorales<\/a> and Brandon
\nMoreno<\/a> squaring off in a pivotal encounter. Both men were
\nextremely active on the feet, throwing and landing dozens upon
\ndozens of punches and kicks, with scattered takedowns thrown in for
\ngood measure. The tussle was about as close as they come, but it
\nwas former two-time world champion Moreno (24-10-2) who had his
\nhand raised in victory via split decision. While one cageside
\nofficial saw it 29-28 for Morales (14-3), that score was offset by
\nthe other two judges who favored \u201cThe Assassin Baby\u201d 30-27,
\nallowing Moreno to stay afloat in the division\u2019s title picture.<\/p>\n

It was an old-fashioned slobber knocker between unbeaten
\nfeatherweight prospects Tommy
\nMcMillen<\/a> and Marwan
\nRahiki<\/a> as the two electrified the arena from start to finish.
\nAfter a heated week where the two camps clashed multiple times,
\nMcMillen tore into Rahiki from the jump and Rahiki obliged. Rahiki
\ndropped his adversary with a perfect counter left hook in the
\nsecond, but he couldn\u2019t put the local fighter away. Bleeding from
\nhis nose and mouth in the third, McMillen sent Rahiki to the canvas
\nwith a clubbing right hand and then threw nearly a dozen choke
\nattempts at him on the ground. Rahiki survived the onslaught and
\nclimbed back to his feet, where the two slugged it out until the
\nfinal horn. In the end, all three judges favored McMillen with
\nscores of 29-28 (twice) and 29-27, improving his pro ledger to
\n12-0. Rahiki dropped to 9-1.<\/p>\n

Alexa
\nGrasso<\/a> took jumped toward another crack at the flyweight title
\nas she tore into No.2 ranked Manon
\nFiorot<\/a> early and often en route to a unanimous decision win.
\nGrasso (18-5-1) was aggressive with her boxing right from the
\nopening horn, and she busted up her French adversary throughout the
\nround, dropping \u201cThe Beast\u201d with a right hook late. The dominance
\ncontinued in the second, but the -280 betting favorite Fiorot
\n(13-3) was able to rally in the third behind kicks to the body to
\nkeep the Mexican at bay. But Fiorot\u2019s late surge wasn\u2019t enough as
\nthe former women\u2019s flyweight world champ prevailed; all three
\njudges saw it 29-28 in Grasso\u2019 favor.<\/p>\n

Curtis
\nBlaydes<\/a> kept his heavyweight world title hopes alive \u2013 barely \u2013
\nwith a sleepy performance against Waldo
\nCortes-Acosta<\/a> (17-4), winning a rather easy unanimous decision.
\nBlaydes (20-7) was able to connect with a few solid punches and was
\nalways a threat to take the Dominican fighter down, which caused
\n\u201cSalsa Boy\u201d to become extremely gun shy. The capacity crowd
\ncontinuously rained down boos, but the lack of action never
\nchanged; Blaydes won with scores of 29-28 across the board.<\/p>\n

Bantamweight contender David
\nMartinez<\/a> bolstered his pro record to 15-1 with a relatively
\ndominant, albeit uneventful, performance over veteran Dan Ige<\/a>.
\nMartinez used effective strikes to keep Ige (19-12) guessing
\nthroughout their encounter and won rather easily via tallies of
\n30-27 (twice) and 29-28.<\/p>\n

In what was the featured bout on the preliminary card, longtime vet
\nTim
\nElliott<\/a> stifled Father Time by edging Edgar
\nChairez<\/a> in a 130lb catchweight battle. Elliott (22-14-1) was
\nrocked badly moments into the fight from a loppy right hand, but
\nthe former world title challenger recovered and eventually turned
\nthe tides. Elliott used timely striking and takedowns to wear
\nChairez (14-7) down and walk out with a unanimous decision win. All
\nthree judges saw it 29-28 for the Missouri native.<\/p>\n

In welterweight action, Ignacio
\nBahamondes<\/a> toppled Muslim
\nSalikhov<\/a> via unanimous decision over three uneventful rounds.
\nBahamondes (18-7) landed the cleaner, more impactful strikes, and
\nalthough Salikhov (22-7) scored multiple takedowns, he couldn’t do
\nanything with them. Two judges saw it 30-27 for Bahamondes while
\nthe third also favored the Chilean, but by the tally of 29-28.<\/p>\n

Rising middleweight contender Yousri
\nBelgaroui<\/a> improved to 10-4 with a first-round drubbing of
\nDjorden
\nSantos<\/a>. Belgaroui rocked his foe with a series of punches on
\nthe feet and then closed him out once Santos (11-4)
\ncrumbled against the cage<\/a>. The fight officially ended at 4:25
\nof the frame.<\/p>\n

Thomas
\nGantt<\/a>\u2019s stock continues to rise as the lightweight closed out
\nveteran Drakkar
\nKlose<\/a> in the final round via inverted triangle choke. The two
\nlargely clinched against the fence for much of the fight, but once
\nthe two hit the canvas, Gantt (13-0) seized Klose\u2019s back,
\nlocked in the submission and forced the tap<\/a>. Klose, now 16-4-1,
\nsuccumbed at 2:46 of the third.<\/p>\n

Zhu
\nRong<\/a> utilized superior striking and better overall cage control
\nto offset much of what fellow lightweight Rafa Garcia<\/a>
\n(19-5) tried. Rong (29-6) won the judges\u2019 verdict via tallies of
\n29-28 across the board.<\/p>\n

Featherweight prospect Sean King<\/a>
\nmade his UFC debut a spectacular one as he vanquished Jessie
\nRosas<\/a> in just 36 seconds. \u201cThe King of New Orleans\u201d scooped
\nRosas up with a double-leg and then
\nslammed him down onto his face<\/a>. Rosas (8-2) was out upon
\nimpact, but King (7-0) unloaded three more punches to the head
\nbefore referee Brad Frank<\/a>
\nintervened.<\/p>\n

Regina
\nTarin<\/a> improved to 9-0 with a dominant performance against
\nveteran J.J. Aldrich<\/a>
\n(15-8) as she outpaced her foe for three rounds, winning a
\nworkmanlike unanimous decision with scores of 29-28 from all three
