Aspinall hasn\u2019t fought since his first title defense against
\nCiryl
\nGane<\/a> ended in a no-contest after he suffered eye pokes to both
\neyes in the first round. He vacated the belt of his own accord,
\nwithout any pressure from the UFC, and claimed he didn\u2019t want to
\nstall the division amid ongoing complications with his right eye.
\nJones, however, has a different view of Aspinall\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

Jon Jones backs criticism of Tom Aspinall after the former UFC
\nheavyweight champion vacates his title<\/h2>\n

An X user recently speculated that Aspinall chose to vacate the
\ntitle because of how the first round of his clash with Gane played
\nout. The user claims Aspinall doesn\u2019t fancy his chances in a
\nrematch with the Frenchman, who currently holds the interim title.
\nJones agreed with the user.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sentiments exactly,\u201d Jones wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Another X user opined that Aspinall was undeserving of the
\nundisputed heavyweight title to begin with, which also drew a
\nresponse from the former two-division champ.<\/p>\n

\u201cOuch,\u201d Jones commented in response to an X user taking a shot at
\nAspinall\u2019s champion status.<\/p>\n

The same X account also noted that Jones was fouled by Gane in
\ntheir heavyweight title fight but made quick work of \u201cBon Gamin\u201d
\nsoon after, unlike Aspinall.<\/p>\n

\u201cDude you are on fire,\u201d Jones posted after the X user brought up
\nhis fight with Gane.<\/p>\n
