Steveson suffered the first loss of his professional mixed martial
\narts career on Sept. 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, getting
\nknocked out by Sean Sharaf<\/a>
\njust 12 seconds into their heavyweight bout at UFC
\n331<\/a>. Steveson\u2019s manager has now addressed the result.<\/p>\n

Abraham Kawa points to Islam Makhachev, GSP and other UFC
\ngreats after Steveson\u2019s loss to Sean Sharaf<\/h2>\n

Steveson (4-1) was a massive betting favorite going into UFC 331.
\nHe made boisterous claims in the lead-up to the fight, dismissing
\nSharaf as merely a stepping stone towards his championship
\naspirations. Fans turned on him as well and the Olympian was
\nrelentlessly booed at the pre-fight formalities and on fight night,
\nfurther fueled by Sharaf taking digs at him at the pre-fight
\npresser.<\/p>\n

First Round Management\u2019s Abraham Kawa backed his client to go on to
\nhave a legendary UFC career despite this setback, pointing to the
\nearly defeats suffered by several champions and Hall of Famers,
\nincluding Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a>, Georges St.
\nPierre<\/a>, Daniel
\nCormier<\/a> and Demetrious
\nJohnson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s OK that Gable got caught,\u201d Kawa wrote on Instagram. \u201cIt\u2019s OK
\nthat he was booed. It\u2019s OK his opponent talked sh*t. It\u2019s OK that
\nthe world is kicking him when down. It\u2019s the life he chose. Islam
\ngot clipped. Arman (Tsarukyan) has lost. DJ has lost. GSP lost. DC
\nlost. Jose
\nAldo<\/a> lost. All went on to have absolutely legendary careers. We
\nstand by our guy. He will be back real soon and he will be
\ngreat!\u201d<\/p>\n
