\nO’Malley<\/a> for the title.<\/p>\n

Vera made an unsuccessful
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> bantamweight title bid against
\nO\u2019Malley in 2024 in Miami. He recently revealed that his house in
\nCalifornia was broken into the night before the fight. When the
\ncameras went off at night, Vera\u2019s wife thought it was due to a
\npower cut. The next morning, the police informed Vera that his
\nhouse had been robbed.<\/p>\n

Marlon Vera says his watch collection was stolen from his
\nCalifornia home before UFC 299<\/h2>\n

Vera wasn\u2019t happy to hear the news just hours before the biggest
\nfight of his career. Vera\u2019s watch collection, worth approximately
\n$200,000, was stolen. While someone informed Vera about a suspect,
\nthe police never caught the culprit. Vera also believes it could be
\nsomeone who knew him, as they entered, found the watch collection
\nwithout rummaging through the house and exited within five
\nminutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe night before the fight, the cameras went off,\u201d Vera told
\nMichael
\nBisping<\/a>. \u201cMy wife was like, \u2018Oh, maybe it\u2019s the electricity.\u2019
\nThe next morning, I wake up like, \u2018F*ck yeah, title fight. Today
\nlife changed.\u2019 Then the phone rings and the cops are like, \u2018Hey
\ndude, they just robbed your house last night around 7 p.m.\u2019 I said,
\n\u2018Right now I don\u2019t have time for this; I\u2019m fighting tonight.\u2019 The
\ncops know who I am; they were like, \u2018No, we get it; we just thought
\nwe’d let you know.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Wrong time to let me know.\u2019 They
\ntold me they took my safe. I lost like $200K because I\u2019m a watch
\ncollector. Those were kind of investments. Those watches are money.
\nI\u2019m counting in my head like, \u2018Now I\u2019m $200K short.\u2019 The cops never
\nfound the guy. I have a photo and I have this random person
\naccusing, like, \u2018Oh, I know this guy. His name is blah, blah.\u2019 The
\nguy came in, took the safe and took it through the front door. It
\ntook him five minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vera (24-12) went on a four-fight skid starting with the failed
\ntitle challenge against O\u2019Malley. \u201cChito\u201d finally ended the slump
\nwith a stoppage win over Charles
\nJourdain<\/a> at UFC 331.<\/p>\n
