Eddie Hearn isn\u2019t buying Dana
\nWhite<\/a>\u2019s explanation for missing the Tyson Fury<\/a>

\nJoshua<\/a> press conference.<\/p>\n

Fury and Joshua are set to clash on Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium
\nin Cardiff, Wales. The first press conference for the fight took
\nplace Sept. 30 at Olympia Exhibition Center in London. White has
\nrepeatedly said he is involved in the fight alongside Turki
\nAlalshikh. However, Hearn has disputed White\u2019s characterization of
\nhis role, claiming contractual arrangements prevent White from
\nbeing involved without his approval.<\/p>\n

The
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> CEO did not attend the press
\nconference in London, having cited his
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> obligations the previous day.<\/p>\n

Hearn remains unconvinced by that explanation. The Matchroom Boxing
\nchairman questioned whether White would miss a press conference for
\na fight of this magnitude because of his Contender Series
\nobligations. Hearn believes Alalshikh wants White involved because
\nof their partnership but maintains that contractual arrangements
\nprevent that from happening without Hearn\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s like me not coming today \u2018cause I got the next gen Show\u2026
\nIt\u2019s a load of bollocks,\u201d Hearn told The Stomping Ground. \u201cThe
\nthing is this – Turki is partners with Dana and Nick Khan. He wants
\nthem involved in the event; contractually, they can\u2019t be unless I
\nallow them to be. Now these guys, Dana, etc. just played it all
\nwrong. I\u2019m not even going to sit here and slag it off because
\nwhat\u2019s happened to them over the last seven days has been one of
\nthe greatest PR disasters in boxing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearn believes White took the wrong approach by publicly clashing
\nwith him. He suggested that he might be open to White\u2019s involvement
\nif it benefits Anthony Joshua and Matchroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even have to go in on them,\u201d Hearn continued. \u201cWhat I
\nwould tell you and I don\u2019t want to be condescending like some
\npeople are and tell you how to do things but all you had to do was
\nsay, \u2018We understand there is a contract in place that [prevents] us
\nfrom being involved; we\u2019re going to get together with Eddie Hearn
\nand Turki Alalshikh and we\u2019re going to discuss it.\u2019 If you can tell
\nme a reason that I should allow these people into the fight and it
\nbenefits Anthony Joshua and Matchroom, let\u2019s chat.\u201d<\/p>\n
