Moreira Junior (12-3) handed Alexander
\nChavez<\/a> (9-1) his first professional loss in a flyweight matchup

\nWeek 9<\/a> of DWCS Season 10 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas on Oct. 6.
\nAfter holding his own in the striking exchanges, the Brazilian was
\nslammed to the mat while securing a triangle choke but held onto
\nthe maneuver, forcing the tap at 3:37 of Round 1.<\/p>\n

Roque Conceicao Moreira Junior submits Alexander Chavez to earn
\nUFC contract on DWCS<\/h2>\n

The victory marked a successful return to DWCS for Moreira Junior,
\nwho suffered a first-round technical knockout loss to Imanol
\nRodriguez<\/a> in Season 9 last year. He compared his second outing
\non the UFC recruitment show to competing in the World Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the best day of my life so far,\u201d Moreira Junior said.
\n\u201cThis is like being in the World Cup, you know? I have dreamed a
\nlot about this. I worked so hard for this, and I thank everyone; I
\nthank God and thank my team. This is a unique moment, and I am
\nnever gonna live this moment again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dana
\nWhite<\/a> was impressed by the back-and-forth bout, praising both
\nfighters\u2019 skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was an incredible fight,\u201d White said while awarding Moreira
\nJunior a UFC contract. \u201cBoth of you guys were killers. Nasty kicks,
\ngreat exchanges, then the slam right into the triangle. What I
\nloved about your fight was everything. We got to see you in a lot
\nof different areas – striking, kicking, taking kicks, taking
\nstrikes, and winning by submission impressively. Welcome to the
