Soares (12-2) faced Miyaguchi (7-2) in a bantamweight matchup on
\n
\nWeek 9<\/a> of DWCS Season 10 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. The
\nBrazilian dropped Miyaguchi with a right hand before following up
\nwith a barrage of strikes to force the stoppage 1:03 into the first
\nround.<\/p>\n

Mateus Soares stopped Ryuho Miyaguchi in the first round at
\nDWCS Week 9<\/h2>\n

Soares entered DWCS 2026 Week 9 looking to impress Dana
\nWhite<\/a> and the UFC matchmakers. The 22-year-old did just that,
\nfinishing his Japanese counterpart in a short but explosive bout.
\nHe was visibly emotional in his post-fight interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t believe I’m here,\u201d Soares said via an interpreter in his
\npost-fight interview with Laura Sanko<\/a>.
\n\u201cI’ve been dreaming of this since I was seven years old.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about White praising his fight and finish, Soares said
\nit felt like a dream and that he’s ready to deliver on the big
\nstage.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like a dream coming true,\u201d Soares said. \u201cI came here to
\nfight the best because I believe I am the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
