Jones\u2019 prot\u00e9g\u00e9, Gable
\nSteveson<\/a>, was knocked out by Sean Sharaf<\/a>
\nin a major upset at UFC
\n331<\/a> in September in Los Angeles. Covington subsequently blamed
\nJones\u2019 \u201cbad energy\u201d for Steveson\u2019s loss. Jones responded by saying
\nthat Covington, his former college roommate, hasn\u2019t achieved even a
\nfraction of what he has in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Colby Covington tells Gable Steveson to leave Jon Jones for

Covington responded by citing domestic abuse allegations against
\nJones. \u201cChaos\u201d said Jones\u2019 professional achievements don\u2019t excuse
\nhis alleged conduct outside the cage. The former interim
\nwelterweight champion then suggested that Steveson train with
\nDaniel
\nCormier<\/a>, Jones\u2019 longtime rival.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe things I say only bother you because they\u2019re true,\u201d Covington
\nwrote on X. \u201cYou\u2019re a narcissistic abusive sociopath. Your
\nachievements inside the Octagon don\u2019t make you a better person
\noutside of it. Those same achievements definitely don’t give you
\nthe right to abuse women either, Jon. At the end of the day, I feel
\nfor Gable being in this situation\u2026 It\u2019s too bad he can\u2019t take
\npunches from heavyweights as well as your wife does. If Gable
\nreally cares about advancing in his career, he should leave you and
\ngo train with a real man like Daniel Cormier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones and Cormier\u2019s heated rivalry has continued since their
\nfighting careers ended. Jones defeated Cormier in their first UFC
\nbout, but his knockout victory in their rematch was overturned to a
\nno contest after \u201cBones\u201d failed a drug test. Years after retiring,
\n\u201cDC\u201d has said he has no interest in reconciling with Jones.<\/p>\n
