\nWellmaker<\/a> says he gave his all in preparing for his latest
\nbout, which ended in his third straight
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> defeat.<\/p>\n

Wellmaker faced Otari
\nTanzilovi<\/a> in the main card opener at
\nUFC Vegas 122<\/a> on Saturday. He had moments of success but was
\nstopped in the second round after Tanzilovi landed a head kick and
\nfollow-up punches.<\/p>\n

Malcolm Wellmaker reflects on American Top Team camp, Otari
\nTanzilovi stoppage and UFC future<\/h2>\n

Wellmaker said he suffered no major injuries. His game plan was to
\nclose the distance to neutralize Tanzilovi\u2019s kicks, an approach he
\nfelt was working early. He also said he moved his family to Florida
\nto prepare at
\nAmerican Top Team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Machine\u201d believes he has improved during his few months at
\nATT. Although uncertain about his next step, he intends to continue
\nfighting as long as it offers a way to provide for his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst and foremost, I\u2019m healthy, no major injuries, so that\u2019s the
\nbiggest blessing so far,\u201d Wellmaker said on Instagram. \u201cAs far as
\nfight night goes, I was working it, and I felt like it was working
\nwell. We wanted to focus on the body, try to stay inside the
\nkicking range, because obviously, he is a dangerous kicker. And
\nreally abuse the pace and volume. And it was going good until it
\nwasn\u2019t. And I got caught. And hats off to Otari, because he is a
\ngreat striker. We all knew how dangerous he was. As far as my camp
\nand preparation, I gave everything I had to it. Moved my whole
\nfamily to Florida to prepare for this this one. I showed up to
\nevery training session I could and gave a 110%. And I improved and
\nI felt like some of those improvements showed during the fight.
\nObviously, I still have a ton of room for improvement. I\u2019ve only
\nbeen at ATT for a few months; I didn\u2019t even start fighting or
\ntraining at all until the age of 23. As far as what\u2019s next for me,
\nI don\u2019t know yet. But as far as the possibility of me providing for
\nmy family with fighting is there, I\u2019m gonna pursue it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wellmaker (10-3) gained attention with first-round knockout
\nvictories on
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> and in his first two UFC bouts,
\nboth of which earned post-fight bonuses. He then lost a decision to
\nEthyn
\nEwing<\/a>, who accepted the matchup on two days\u2019 notice, and has
\nbeen finished in his last two appearances.<\/p>\n
