\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a>\u2019s welterweight division.<\/p>\n

Francischinelli stopped William
\nRentz<\/a> in the opening round on
\nWeek 10<\/a> of
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> Season 10 at Meta Apex in Las
\nVegas on Oct. 13.<\/p>\n

Luis Francischinelli earns UFC contract with first-round TKO of
\nWilliam Rentz at DWCS Week 10<\/h2>\n

Rentz (8-3) immediately closed the distance, taking the 6-foot-6
\nFrancischinelli (7-1) down with a body lock. Francischinelli
\nthreatened a heel hook and landed elbows from his back before
\nreturning to his feet.<\/p>\n

Rentz secured another takedown, but Francischinelli quickly stood
\nagain. As Rentz pressed forward, the Brazilian dropped him with a
\ncounter left hook. Francischinelli followed him to the canvas and
\nlanded ground strikes to force the stoppage at 2:18 of Round 1.<\/p>\n

UFC CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a> praised Francischinelli\u2019s performance, describing the
\n30-year-old as a \u201cfun\u201d addition to the 170-pound division.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuis, you\u2019re 7-1 now, you\u2019re 170 pounds, you\u2019re 10 feet tall,\u201d
\nWhite said. \u201cAnother fun guy that I\u2019m excited to watch fight in the
\nUFC. Congratulations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Francischinelli was emotional after the fight and said his wife was
\nin the hospital. After receiving his contract, he shared an update,
\nsaying she had been discharged.<\/p>\n
