Farid
\nBasharat<\/a> has addressed his departure from the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> in a statement on social
\nmedia.<\/p>\n

Basharat (16-0) completed his contract with a victory over John Garza<\/a>
\nin July and wasn\u2019t offered a new deal despite going unbeaten in the
\npromotion. In his statement, Basharat reflected on his UFC tenure
\nand questioned the organization\u2019s direction.<\/p>\n

Farid Basharat says the UFC never offered a new contract after
\nhis unbeaten seven-fight run<\/h2>\n

Basharat went 7-0 in the UFC after earning a contract on
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a>, with six of those victories
\ncoming by decision. He confirmed his departure on Instagram, saying
\nhe competed under unfavorable circumstances and never declined a
\nfight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe news is confirmed, I am no longer with the UFC,\u201d Basharat
\nwrote on Instagram. \u201cI\u2019ve had an incredibly successful time in the
\norganization. I\u2019m proud and happy with what I\u2019ve accomplished
\ninside the Octagon. I leave with a stainless record. Holding the
\nlongest active win streak in my weight division and the fourth
\nlongest in the entire UFC. I feel I\u2019m the best bantamweight in the
\nworld. I always turned up and fought regardless of injuries and
\nweight deficits. And I always asked for the toughest opponent to
\nget me closer to the title.\u201d<\/p>\n

While grateful for his time with the promotion and its staff,
\nBasharat questioned the UFC\u2019s direction and said he had not
\nreceived a contract offer since his last bout.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut my departure clearly has nothing to do with my fighting
\ncapabilities,\u201d Basharat added. \u201cUnfortunately, the organization
\njust isn\u2019t what it used to be. They\u2019re heading in a different
\ndirection from what we all grew up loving. I want to clarify that
\nsince my last fight, I was never offered a contract or an opponent;
\nI waited, but it never came. I\u2019ve certainly never declined a fight
\nduring my whole tenure.\u201d<\/p>\n
