Kayla Harrison prepares to defend UFC bantamweight title
\nagainst Amanda Nunes after neck surgery<\/h2>\n

Nunes is widely regarded as the greatest female mixed martial
\nartist of all time. Harrison said she might not have fought again
\nif Nunes were not her opponent.<\/p>\n

“I mean, just to be honest, yeah,\u201d Harrison told Ariel Helwani when
\nasked if the Nunes fight is the only reason she\u2019s returning to
\naction.<\/p>\n

Harrison (19-1) won two
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> lightweight championships before
\njoining the UFC in 2024. She submitted Julianna
\nPena<\/a> to win the UFC bantamweight title last year. Her first
\ndefense against Nunes (23-5) was scheduled for January, but a neck
\ninjury requiring surgery forced her to withdraw.<\/p>\n
