Coker<br \/>\nsaid the promotion has submitted a request to the California State<br \/>\nAthletic Commission to consider an alternative ruleset.<\/p>\n<h2>Ki MMA asks California regulators to discuss global MMA rules<br \/>\nat Dec. 1 meeting<\/h2>\n<p>Coker wants to incorporate elements of the global MMA rules into<br \/>\nthe Unified Rules of MMA. However, the proposal would exclude<br \/>\nsoccer kicks, stomps and what his statement describes as \u201clinear<br \/>\nknee strikes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always believed MMA should keep evolving,\u201d Coker wrote on<br \/>\nInstagram. \u201cKi MMA has formally requested a rule change to bring<br \/>\nelements of the Global MMA Rules into the Unified Rules, excluding<br \/>\nsoccer kicks, stomps and linear knee strikes as per Rule 533.
