Eddie Hearn is mocking Zuffa Boxing after Shakur Stevenson\u2019s
\ndeparture.<\/p>\n

The promotion, headed by
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> CEO Dana
\nWhite<\/a>, signed Stevenson in July. However, the boxing star has
\nsecured his release without fighting for the organization.<\/p>\n

Eddie Hearn calls Shakur Stevenson’s departure before Zuffa
\nBoxing debut ‘humiliating’<\/h2>\n

Hearn criticized White over Stevenson\u2019s departure. The Matchroom
\nBoxing chairman said he initially thought the news was a publicity
\nstunt.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnbelievable, I thought it was a publicity stunt, to be honest
\nwith you,\u201d Hearn told iFL TV. \u201cLike, until Shakur\u2019s team called me,
\nmessaged me last night, I thought it was all just some kind of
\nstunt for an announcement, because it was so bad, so embarrassing,
\nso humiliating for Zuffa, that I thought it can\u2019t be real. Because
\nit happened, and literally within 30 seconds I had 50 messages. \u2018Oh
\nmy God, have you seen this? Zuffa\u2019s finished. Zuffa\u2019s imploding.
\nDana White\u2019s head falling off.\u2019 What the f*ck. And I thought, nah,
\nthis can\u2019t be right. Like, how can you sign your most high-profile
\nfighter, and then he leaves you without even fighting? I don\u2019t
\nthink, in the history of boxing, that has ever happened. Tell me a
\ntime when a promoter has signed a pound-for-pound great, the
\nbiggest signing they\u2019ve ever signed, and he has left before he\u2019s
\neven fought. That has never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearn continued to mock White and Zuffa Boxing, citing the UFC
\nexecutive\u2019s promises about what the promotion would accomplish by
\nthe end of the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Dana White says about the history that Zuffa is gonna make,
\nthe body of work that you\u2019re going to see by the end of the year,
\none thing I will give it to Zuffa: they have made history there by
\nactually signing a fighter and never giving him a fight,\u201d Hearn
\nadded. \u201cSo that\u2019s some great body of work there. Of course we\u2019re
\ngoing to dine out on it, aren\u2019t we? Because they would do the same
\nthing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearn and White have also clashed over White\u2019s role in the upcoming
\nfight between Tyson Fury<\/a>
\nand Anthony
\nJoshua<\/a>, scheduled for Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium in
\nCardiff, Wales. White has said he will be involved in producing the
\nbroadcast, while Hearn maintains that the existing contract
\nprevents such involvement without an agreed change.<\/p>\n
