Evloev (20-0) is scheduled to challenge Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> (28-4) for the featherweight title at
\nUFC 333<\/a> on Oct. 24 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Aldo said he
\nwouldn\u2019t have given Evloev a title shot.<\/p>\n

Jose Aldo calls Movsar Evloev’s UFC fights boring ahead of
\nAlexander Volkanovski title shot<\/h2>\n

Despite his perfect record, Evloev has drawn criticism for going
\nthe distance in all 10 of his UFC appearances. Aldo said he would
\nwait for the Russian\u2019s first defeat before releasing him. The Hall
\nof Famer views the UFC as an entertainment business in which
\nwinning alone doesn\u2019t guarantee opportunities or stardom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UFC isn\u2019t just an organization that just has to follow a
\nrankings system. It\u2019s a business; it\u2019s entertainment,\u201d Aldo told
\nMMA Fighting. \u201cIt\u2019s not a matter of, \u2018I\u2019m number one so I have to
\nfight for the title.\u2019 No. Evloev is ranked No.1 in the division, if
\nI\u2019m not mistaken, and if I were the president, I\u2019d never put him in
\nthere. He could beat everybody. I\u2019d wait for him to lose for the
\nfirst time and then cut him because he\u2019s a guy that doesn\u2019t sell, a
\nguy who puts on boring fights, a guy who doesn\u2019t draw attention; he
\njust stays inactive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former featherweight champion pointed to Jean Silva<\/a>
\nand Alex
\nPereira<\/a> as examples of fighters whose aggressive styles appeal
\nto fans despite their losses inside the Octagon.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo why would I give him that opportunity? I want to sell out my
\narena, I want my event to grow, there\u2019s a lot involved,\u201d Aldo
\nadded. \u201cJean Silva could lose three fights, but he\u2019s a guy who
\ncomes forward, a guy who puts on a show. That\u2019s what fans want to
\nsee. \u2018Poatan\u2019 was already almost 35 when he joined the UFC and he
\nkept growing\u2026 There are so many things you have to consider\u2026 It\u2019s
\nnot just a matter of, \u2018F*ck, I beat everyone.\u2019 You beat everyone by
\nlaying and praying, drawing no attention and nobody talks about
\nanything.\u201d<\/p>\n
