\nErosa<\/a> says he will make his final walk to the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> Octagon when he faces Jeong Yeong
\nLee<\/a> at
\nUFC Vegas 123<\/a> on Saturday in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Erosa, 37, said in an interview with Fanatics View that his Oct. 31
\nmatchup against Lee will be his retirement fight, regardless of the
\nresult. The longtime featherweight said he wanted to establish a
\nfirm end date because neither a victory nor a defeat would
\nnecessarily make walking away easier.<\/p>\n

Julian Erosa explains why fatherhood and his long-term health
\ninfluenced his decision to retire after facing Jeong Yeong Lee<\/h2>\n

Erosa has lost his last two bouts, including a stoppage defeat to
\nLerryan
\nDouglas<\/a> in March. \u201cJuicy J\u201d wants to finish his career with a
\nvictory against Lee.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t really made it a big deal, but this will be my last
\nfight,\u201d Erosa said. \u201cI just wanted to give myself one more
\nopportunity to try to get my hand raised, but I wanted to make it a
\ndate of when I was going to be done because I think the problem is,
\nwin, lose, or draw, I\u2019m going to want to fight again.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained that winning could tempt him to continue competing,
\nwhile a defeat might leave him chasing redemption. Erosa also said
\nfatherhood has changed his priorities and that he plans to move his
\nfamily from Las Vegas back to his home state of Washington.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe order of things that are important in my life has switched a
\nlittle bit after having my son,\u201d Erosa added. \u201cFighting used to be
\nmy life and now I have other things that are on top of that. So,
\nI\u2019ve got to look out for those things and if I can get out of
\nfighting with my health intact, that\u2019s what I want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Erosa made his UFC debut in 2015 after appearing on \u201cThe Ultimate
\nFighter.\u201d He returned to the promotion after earning a contract on
\n
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> in 2018, but was released after
\nthree consecutive losses. He rejoined the UFC in 2020 following a
\nregional victory and has since competed 13 more times in the
\nOctagon, bringing his promotional record to 9-9.<\/p>\n
