The undefeated welterweight discussed his development ahead of his

\nUFC Vegas 123<\/a> on Oct. 31 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Jacobe Smith credits improvements in his striking and wrestling
\nunderstanding before facing Randy Brown<\/h2>\n

Speaking at UFC media day, Smith said he is pleased with his
\nprogress but recognizes areas that need more work.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I could get much better,\u201d Smith said. \u201cThere’s some spots
\nwhere I know I wanted to polish a little bit more. But I’m content
\nwith where I’m at — at this moment — because I’ve developed very
\nwell in my striking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith also said he has gained a deeper understanding of wrestling
\ntechniques he paid less attention to during his collegiate
\ncareer.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd even in my wrestling, even though I’m not competing at a
\ncollegiate wrestling room, I’m starting to understand stuff that
\nworks that I didn’t really look into when I was competing in
\nwrestling,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

He credited his approach to learning and handling challenges with
\nhelping him improve.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I’m taking everything as it comes and I’m dealing with it
\nprofessionally and it’s getting me to another level,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
