Volkanovski (29-4) defended the featherweight title with a
\ntechnical knockout victory over Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a> at
\nUFC 333<\/a> in Abu Dhabi before expressing interest in returning to
\nlightweight. With champion Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> uncertain about his future, Volkanovski offered to face
\nTsarukyan (24-3) for the vacant title if Gaethje retires.<\/p>\n

Arman Tsarukyan reminds Alexander Volkanovski how Islam
\nMakhachev rematch ended<\/h2>\n

Tsarukyan said the championship matters more to him than the
\nopponent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m ready for everyone,\u201d Tsarukyan told Yavuz Saynomo. \u201cFor me, it
\ndoesn\u2019t matter who I\u2019m gonna fight; I just want to fight for the
\ntitle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Volkanovski has expressed confidence that he can counter
\nTsarukyan\u2019s wrestling and avoid being held down. Tsarukyan
\nresponded by recalling the Australian\u2019s knockout loss to Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said Islam Makhachev cannot knock him out, too,\u201d Tsarukyan
\nadded.<\/p>\n

Volkanovski has twice challenged Makhachev for the lightweight
\nchampionship. He lost their first meeting by unanimous decision
\nbefore Makhachev finished their rematch with a head kick and
\nfollow-up punches.<\/p>\n

Tsarukyan remains confident that his next bout will be for the
\ntitle. If Gaethje retires, \u201cThe Batman\u201d expects to compete for the
\nvacant belt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a title fight next,\u201d Tsarukyan reiterated. \u201cEither Justin
\nGaethje. If he is retired, someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n
